    Taking place 6 months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Midway was an epic clash between the U.S. Navy and the Imperial Japanese Navy.  Through days of fierce fighting, the battle concluded with a decisive victory by American Naval Forces in the air-sea battle, as well as its successful defense of the major base located at Midway Island.  This victory eliminated Japan’s hopes of neutralizing the United States as a naval power and effectively turned the tide of World War II in the Pacific.
    This tee honors those brave souls who fought and died defending our freedom.  The back of this shirt highlights the movements of the two forces up to and during the battle.  Also included is the quote from historian Walter Lord which is featured on the World War II memorial in Washington, DC.
